IDB Loans submitted to Congress

 

Loan contracts totally USD$400.00 million between the Inter-American Development Bank and the Dominican State were submitted by the Executive office on April 13 to the Dominican Senate. The Ministry of Finance (Secretaría de Estado de Hacienda) through the Public Debt Office (Dirección General de Crédito Público) collaborated with all executing agencies units in obtaining this funds to be utilized for : a) Liquidity program for growth sustainability, b) Support program for the increase of productivity, and c) Restructuring program for electric distribution grid.

The details of these programs pending authorization are:

a)       Loan No.2125/OC-DR, of March 27 of 2009, for the amount of US$300.0 millions, to be utilized in the liquidity program for growth sustainability of the Dominican Republic.

b)   Loan No.2126/OC-DR, for the amount of US$60.0 millions, to be utilized for a support program for the increase of productivity, to be executed by the Ministry of Finance.

c)       Loan No.2 042 /OC-DR, for the amount of USD$40.0 millions, to be used on the restructuring program for the electric distribution, to be executed by the Dominican Electric Office (Corporación Dominicana de Empresas Eléctricas Estatales)

In addition to the three loans above, another loan submitted on March 7, 2007 is in the process of approval for the amount of US$21.0 millions, under the file No. 01324, to finance the Modernization and Administration of Public Resources program. An additional loan in the process of being approved is a revolving line of credit for the amount of US$5.0 millions under the file No.3916 dated March 22, 2007 which will be used for the evaluation and execution of programs.

Still awaiting approval is a loan that was submitted on November 9, 2004, under the No.1494/OC/DR, to finance the Institutional Developing Program for the Information Society for the amount of US$5.4 millions.
